The Charleston Museum

The Charleston Museum offers diverse programs designed to supplement a variety of curricula. Emphasis is on personal discovery and hands-on activities; all programs are geared to the level of the group scheduled. All programs meet with South Carolina Academic Standards. During the programs, students are given the opportunity to handle mounted animals and/or original artifacts.

How to Schedule a Museum Visit

Use our online reservation system or fill out the Reservations Request Form and fax it to (843) 722-6270. All reservations are taken on a first come, first served basis and must be made at least two weeks in advance. RESERVATIONS CANNOT BE MADE OVER THE PHONE. Programs are offered Tuesday through Saturday.
Please indicate if your group has any special needs.
You will receive a confirmation in advance of your visit. Do not assume you have a confirmed reservation until you receive it. Please bring the confirmation with you. The amount of this confirmation will be the minimum due upon your arrival.
Please remember that a museum tour is NOT automatically included with a program. If you would like a museum tour, you must check SELF-GUIDED MUSEUM TOUR on your reservation form.
Please collect all money in advance, to be paid at the time of your visit. The Museum will accept either cash, check, MasterCard or Visa. Make checks payable to “The Charleston Museum”.
Late arrival can result in cancelling or shortening your program subject to Museum teacher availability. However, the amount shown on your confirmation form will still be due.
Please contact the Museum Education Department at least 5 calendar days prior to your visit to confirm the total number in your party and the programs being conducted. Your final amount due will be based on this information.
Written cancellation is required. Groups not canceling in writing at least 10 days prior to the visit will be charged 20% of total due.
