Have you always wanted to learn to knit? With all of the gorgeous
natural, exotic and novelty fibers available today, there’s never been a
better time to start! In this morning-long knitting workshop, students
will be introduced to the tools of the craft, learn how to buy the
right yarn for projects and how to read a basic pattern. Instructor
Becca Hiester will teach us how to cast on, knit, purl and bind off
while starting an easy project. We will take a break from all the
knitting action with a curator-led tour of the Museum’s textile storage
area and a look at knitted objects in the collection. Workshop fee
includes yarn and needles to keep. No knitting experience required.
