Description:
One of eight northern mallard eggs (Anas platyrhynchos platyrhynchos) collected from the Mountain View County (see CBE2341 - CBE2348). Incubation was fresh at the time of collection and identification was made by viewing the female at the nest. The nest was "in old magpie nest with down added for lining in willow bush, 10 ft. from ground," (Hamm slip).
