Description:
One of eight northern mallard eggs (Anas platyrhynchos platyrhynchos) collected north-east of Los Banos (10 miles = 16.09 km) (see CBE2333 - CBE2340). Incubation displayed small embryos at the time of collection and identification was made when the bird was flushed. The nest was "of bits of tules and down in reeds on small island in swamp," (Unglish slip).
