Description:

Photograph of Broad Street looking west toward St. Michael's Church (71 Broad Street). To photograph this street scene, Paine positioned himself on the interior steps of the Old Post Office Building (now the Old Exchange & Provost Dungeon Building, 122 East Bay) and shot through the open doorway. Several diagonally parked automobiles are visible on both sides of the street and two pedestrians can be seen passing in front of a trolley car. Paine's notation on reverse reads, "Plain film, 1/25th Zeiss 16.5 F8 Too Shady. Try July Jan 1933."
