Description:

Hand-tinted carte-de-visite of Claudine Rhett (see also MK 9393a). Her bolero jacket style bodice with bow embelleishments has been colored blue. A large cross is at her neck and the large earrings dangling from her ears have been colored gold. Her curled hair has been tinted brown. Photographer's stamp on reverse, "S. Anderson, Photographs 183 Canal Street, New Orleans, La. No. 11847." Rhett's handwritten inscription on reverse, "To Elisa With my best love Claude Rhett."
