Description:
Currently on exhibit in the Armory at the Museum, this percussion cap dueling pistol, has a trigger guard with an extra finger rest and an octagonal smooth bore barrel and is part of a complete dueling case with accessories. The case has a red interior and includes four cylindrical tin boxes to carry caps & powder, etc., one roll of fabric to be used as wadding, one wooden mallet, a cleaning rod and ramrod, some remaining cleaning and maintenance utensils, one bullet mold and one brass powder flask marked with "James Dixon & Sons Sheffield". The case can be locked shut and contains one closed compartment with firing balls.
