Description:
One of three American white ibis eggs in which incubation had just started when collected (see CBE2643 - CBE2645). The nest was "of sticks and reeds and lined with salt water cedar leaves and placed in salt water cedar tree about 5 ft. from ground in large colony. Large colony of this species and herons and egrets on island in Cooper River. This is a very unusual set, with small dots and few markings in contrast with usual heavy markings on most eggs of this ibis," (Cutts slip).
