Color photograph of the old Charleston Museum on fire. A fire truck, outfitted with an aerial work platform (or bucket), is parked in front with the arm and bucket in the down position. Dental student, Tony Martin, shot this image from Ashley Avenue after midnight. The wall on this side had just collapsed. According to "The News and Courier," firemen arrived on scene around 11:22 pm. on October 18 and battled the blaze for two hours before bringing it under control.
