Color photograph of the fire that destroyed the old Charleston Museum on Rutledge Avenue. Dental student, Tony Martin, shot this image from Ashley Avenue after midnight. The wall had just collapsed onto a ladder truck, injuring one fire fighter and destorying the vehicle. According to "The News and Courier," firemen arrived on scene around 11:22 pm. on October 18 and battled the blaze for about two hours before bringing it under control.
