Description:
This three barelled, muzzle-loading, flintlock pistol is currently on exhibit in the Armory at the Museum. It is equipped with a brass frame and iron workings and star-shaped muzzles. The firing mechanism works by means of a revolving pan and each of the three primer chambers (housed within a box lock) connect to a specific barrel. After firing, a small turning knob rotates the pan and exposes the next chamber to ready the next shot.
