Photograph of an unidentified young woman (possibly May Paine), standing with her arms and feet extended outward. She has buried her feet in the sand and Paine has attempted to capture her shadow in the receding tide. Paine noted on reverse, "Shadows & Siren, Sea and Sand. Photo Aug 1937 Paine, Chas. S.C. Take it in Dec. Shadows better."
