Photograph of amateur golfers, Andrew Manson and Noble Hardee, putting on the 17th green as a large crowd of spectators observe. Paine noted on reverse, "Andrew Manson, Darien [GA] winning Southern Championship from Noble Hardee, Savannah Ga. at the 35th hole 3 up & 1 to go. May [19]05."
The Southern Amateur was an amateur golf tournament that started in 1902 and played at match play until 1964 when it changed to stroke play. Andrew Manson won the tournament in 1904 and 1905.
