Description:
Photograph showing the ghosting of the original shelving where enslaved people once lived and labored on the second floor in the kitchen/laundry building at 87 Church Street. Bayless shot the image during the archaeological dig conducted by Museum archaeologist, Elaine Herold. Photographer's handwritten notation on reverse, "Heyward-Washington, 2nd Floor, Ghosting of Closet partitions & sharing between rooms on North Wall, from East Room."
