Description:

One of three great black-backed gull eggs (CBE1873 - CBE1875) collected from Tj?rnes, Iceland. Palsson's slip noted the incubation had started prior to collection and the identification was made when seeing the parent sitting on the nest. The nest was "placed on a grassy ledge of a sea cliff. Eggs resting on some scrapes of dead grass." The eggs were later acquired by Ernest Cutts.
