Description:

One of eight American wigeon eggs that were collected from Pile Lake along with a small glassine envelope of down, not identified, (see also CBE2384 - CBE2391). The incubation had begun roughly one week from the collection date and the eggs were identified by the Canadian Wildlife Service. The nest was "under heavy grass, near few trees, 40 yd. from lake. First found May 26th. Area flooded," (Slimmon slip).
