Description:

Ambrotype of a fireman wearing a uniform and helmet of the Marion Fire Company. A notation attached on reverse, "Showing Fireman's cap - when 'gentlemen' formed the Fire Co. of Charleston, S.C. Do not know who wears this hat. R.L. Miles." The image is surrounded with a gold metal border and mounted in a shallow case. Some glass corrosion has occured and the cover is missing.
