Otranto Plantation

Description:

Photograph of the Otranto Plantation house used as the club house for the Otranto Hunting Club. An unidentified man is seated on the front steps with a gun leaning against a porch column. Paine noted on reverse, "The Rectory of Goose Creek Church 1709-12. Now Otranto Club 16 miles from Chas S.C."

According to Dr. Burgess in his chronicles of "St. Mark's Parish," the Reverend Mr. Porgson used the home as his rectory in the years 1796 to 1806.
