Description:
One of three Atlantic brown pelican eggs (Pelecanus occidentalis carolinensis) collected near Rockville, Deveax Bank when freshly incubated (see CBE2315 - CBE2317). Identified by nearby birds. According to collector Ernest Cutts, the nest was made up "of reed stems and sticks and built up about a foot from the ground in a colony on bank at mouth of Edisto River."
