Description:

One of four glossy ibis eggs in which incubation had started and were identified by the birds present when collected (see CBE2713 - CBE2716). The nest was "of sticks and stems and lined with salt water cedar leaves and placed on ground under salt water cedar trees; built up about 18 in. high. In large colony of ibises, egrets and herons on island in Cooper River. Nest was one of many found on ground. Other nest in trees above," (Cutts sip).
