Description:
Photograph of jockey, William S. Gaillard accepting the first place cup presented by Parry R. Porcher. Gaillard won this event, called the "St. John's," riding Marguerita from Numertia Plantation. Photograher's notation on reverse, "Richard Kirk Gaillard on Marguerita wins St Johns Race - cup by P.R. Porcher." Please note that Paine incorrectly identified the rider as William's brother, Richard K. Gaillard.
