Description:
Watercolor on paper illustrating the stem, leaves and fruit of the Tapagomea tomentosa plant painted during Taylor's first expedition with William Beebe in British Guiana (now Guyana). Tiny watercolor strokes make up the hairs on the unfurling bud, stem and leaves with three of them unfinished. Six thumbnail sketches in the lower left detail the features of the blue flowers.
Gift of the artist, 1946.
