Description:

Ambrotype of an unidentified man. The image is surrounded by a gold metal border and mounted in a shallow wooden case made of gutta percha, and the interior leather pad is lined in a burgandy sculptured velvet. A separate piece of paper found behind the image, "Littlefield, Parsons and Co. Manufacturers of daguerreotype cases. L.P. & Co. are sole proprietors and only legal manufacturer of Union Cases with riveted hinges. Pat Oct IV 1856 and Apr 21, 1857.
