Portrait photograph of an unidentified woman wearing a bodice with slightly puffed sleeves and lace trim covering the front breast panels. The collar is high with a lace trim. Her hair is pulled back under a velvet trimmed hat topped with ribbons. The image is mounted to a decorative matte board. Photographer's mark stamped on reverse, "Gem, or Stamp Photos, - $2.00 - Two Dollars, per 100 a the New York Gem Gallery, 265 King Street Charleston, S.C."
