Description:
Watercolor on translucent paper depicting a historical scene. Three figures in colonial dress stand under a spanish moss laden tree visible in the upper right. The middle figure, wearing a tricorn hat, holds a parcel which he offers to the man on the right. The scene is illustration-like and only the figures are outlined in watercolor. The rest of the scene is conveyed in pencil. This is a study for another watercolor, (see 1975.32.253).
