Description:

Oil landscape painting on canvas illustrating a circle of trees atop a small hill. The trees are conveyed with their leaves melding together, making the foliage on one tree indistinguishable from the next. Dashes of yellow around the bases of the tree trunks and red blended into the smooth expanse of grass give the predominantly cool hued image a pleasing contrast of color. This painting, like many others by Ball, has an arching composition.
